On balance, yes. Farming will always be a difficult way to make a living. But thanks to the ingenuity and savvy of corn farmers and the immense advances in technology and genetics, there will be plenty of corn to go around, even as we find ever more uses for our largest and most adaptable crop.

- Why was supply ever in doubt in the midst of the second-largest corn harvest in history?
- Isn’t this just some abstract, inside-the-Beltway policy wrangle? Why does all this matter to people like me?

- So the future of corn looks good?
- Then what, if anything, must we do about corn?
